To say growth and construction in Utah are booming is an understatement. According to a report from July 2016 by the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah and The Ivory-Boyer Real Estate Center, permit authorized construction in Utah reached $6.9 billion in 2015. That number is certainly higher today.

“By 2010, the Great Recession had pushed construction spending in Utah down to a 20-year low of $3.5 billion, the bottom of the cycle’s trough,” said the report. “Since then the construction industry has had five consecutive years of expansion.”

We thought it would be fun to put Nearmap’s high-resolution aerial imagery to work to view the progress of a few of Utah’s big projects. Nearmap is a client of SnappConner PR and calls South Jordan home for its U.S. corporate office.

Utah Valley Hospital

Intermountain Healthcare’s major hospital replacement project will replace the old Utah Valley Regional Medical Center with the new 12-story, 600,000 square foot Utah Valley Hospital. Mountain America Credit Union Corp Headquarters and Hale Theatre Performing Arts Center in Sandy, Utah

Currently, The Mountain America Performing Arts Centre – Home of the Hale Centre Theatre – is under construction in Sandy, Utah. The 130,000-square foot center will be home to two theaters and seat more than 1300 people. It is scheduled to open in the fall of 2017. Just to the North of the performing arts center, Mountain America Credit Union has broken ground on the construction of its new corporate headquarters. FamilySearch Building in Lehi, Utah

Started in 2016, the 123,000-square foot FamilySearch building for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will house a Family Search and Discovery Center while providing needed office space for the organization.
